YMCA OF METRO DETROIT IS OFFERING BOLD & GOLD TRIPS FOR THE SUMMER OF 2023!
Through Detroit’s BOLD & GOLD program, youth will explore some of the most beautiful natural spaces in the Midwest
On our expeditions, youth have the opportunity to bond with a diverse group of peers, build leadership skills, and deepen their connection to the outdoors. Using wilderness spaces in the Midwest as a classroom, small groups of youth (8-10 participants) build community and develop leadership, collaboration, and communication skills as they work together to successfully navigate the challenges of multi-day backcountry trips.
No experience needed!
Our expeditions are designed for a range of interests, skill, and goals. No outdoor experience is required to participate – all are welcome!
All trips begin and end at the Detroit Exploration and Nature Center located in Palmer Park. Conveniently situated in Detroit, families will have the opportunity to meet with trip instructors and other participants as the group gears up for their adventure.
