The Transmission of Sensitive Data
The YMCA employs Secure Socket Layer technology (SSL) on those pages that involve sensitive information such as credit card numbers. SSL is supported by the vast majority of internet web browsers available today, and is the most commonly employed method of secure, encrypted communications on the internet.
All communications are encrypted using 128-bit VeriSign™ SSL Certification and 1024-bit RSA public keys. VeriSign™ is an independent third party that authenticates the identity of others on the internet. By registering with VeriSign™, we provide you with a method of authenticating that the entity you are dealing with over the internet is the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

What Happens to My Information After the YMCA Receives it?
SSL protects the information you send us, VeriSign™ certificate technology ensures that the YMCA is the actual recipient of your information. Once we receive it, we ensure your information is stored and managed securely. All data collected is protected by multiple levels of data and structural security including: separate servers for web and data, multiple firewalls and encrypted passwords.
