YMCA of Western North Carolina will not be offering BOLD & GOLD in the Summer of 2021.

Come join in the fun and adventure
Experience deeper friendships and a shared sense of accomplishment.

The Horizons Afterschool Program incorporates BOLD & GOLD curriculum into its Outdoor Club, focusing on developing the five core competencies of Confidence, Courage, Community Awareness, Emotional Intelligence, and a sense of Wonder. The afterschool curriculum helps to prepare participants for the wilderness trip.

Our trips are 7 days long, starting and ending at YMCA Blue Ridge Assembly. We focus on leadership development while backpacking through amazing wilderness areas with waterfalls and amazing vistas. Participants also get to challenge themselves through rock climbing (weather permitting).

Location Details

We backpack and rock climb in the Nantahelah and Pisgah National Forests in western North Carolina. We white water raft on the French Broad River.
